John Nahhay took top honours at the Posso Sports Madunga 10-kilometre Cross Country held in Babati, Manyara region, on February 8, 2025.
Nahhay clocked an impressive 29:46.43, outpacing his closest challengers, Peter Gidoska, who finished in 30:08.58, and Fabiano Sulle, who came in third with a time of 30:15.95.

In fourth and fifth places were Decta Boniphance and Emmanuel Dinday, finishing in 30:32.86 and 30:42.84, respectively.
The women’s 10-kilometre event saw Anastazia Ng’ombegeni lead the pack with a time of 36:11.70, with Catherine Lange and Sarah Hiiti close behind in 38:11.28 and 38:35.58, respectively.
Tunu Andrea secured fourth place with 38:58.17, followed by Valentina Lazaro in 39:29.81.
The boys’ six-kilometre race for ages 16 and 17 was dominated by Kanali Filisi, who posted a winning time of 19:14.99. Castori Michael and Daniel Herman rounded out the top three with times of 20:04.59 and 20:20.77, respectively.
In the corresponding girls’ event, Neema Nyaisawa emerged victorious in 22:21.38. She was followed by Naomi Gitiyang and Warda Shabani, who finished in 23:38.69 and 24:28.01, respectively.
Veteran athletics coach and manager John Manyama praised Madunga Sports for its commitment to nurturing athletic talent at the grassroots level and promoting health and fitness nationwide.
“Running is not only a sport but a way to maintain health, and it should be encouraged in every corner of the country,” Manyama added.
