On January 28, 2024, six Park Rangers while patrolling the Burunge Wildlife Area, saw three people with two motorcycles and decided to arrest them as they suspected that, they had no permission to be in the area. Unfortunately, two of them escaped using the motorcycles, leaving behind the appellant who also attempted to run but was nabbed.
They found him with a blue-and-green-stripes plastic bag and a machete. The bag had fresh meat, one head of a giraffe and its skin.
