EDWARD LOWASSA REMEMBERED AT THANKSGIVING SERVICE IN MONDULI

A large crowd gathered to pay tribute to the late Prime Minister Edward Ngoyai Lowassa during a Thanksgiving Service held on February 9, 2025, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT) in Monduli, Arusha region.

Speaking on behalf of the family of the late Prime Minister, Mr Fredrick Lowassa, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) for Monduli Constituency, reiterated gratitude towards President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her support during his father’s illness and subsequent passing. He also extended appreciation to Tanzanians for their solidarity during the difficult mourning period.

“As today we mark one year since the passing of our father, I humbly ask all Tanzanians to continue honouring his legacy and the impactful deeds he accomplished during his lifetime,” Mr Fredrick stressed.

The thanksgiving service was further enriched with words of encouragement from Dr Solomon Masangwa, the retired Bishop of the ELCT, North Central Diocese, who advised the Lowassa family to continue seeking guidance and strength from God and to carry on the noble activities of the late Edward Lowassa.

The event was attended by the Minister of State in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr George Simbachawene, as well as leaders from various political parties and government officials.
