Heatwave Hits Monduli Hard

Nanja Dam, once a highly dependable source of water for a number of villages in Lower Monduli, is slowly dying due to siltation, evaporation, and invasion by weeds, which normally grow when the water gets very polluted.

But at least, in this photo taken recently, the dam is still home to a flock of African geese, which have become hard to spot even on the shores of Lake Nyanza (Victoria), where they were once a commonplace sighting.
