THE ARUSHA NEWS CLOCKS ONE YEAR!

Time flies very quickly, or so they say. It’s hard to believe that March 7, 2025, marked our first anniversary at The Arusha News. It feels almost like only yesterday, but it has already been a year—a period filled with dynamic reporting that has changed the social landscape for the residents of Manyara, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Tanga, the primary audience for our publication.

We have brought to the doorsteps of homes and businesses coverage on business trends, current affairs, conservation, as well as the endeavours of youth and women entrepreneurs, with highlights on culture and sports. We have covered several local and international events, for which Arusha is famous as the natural venue of choice.

They also say that March comes in roaring like a lion and goes out bleating like a lamb. It is our sincere hope, therefore, that at The Arusha News, the hard, difficult times are now behind us, and that we have opened a new chapter whereby our reading clientele trusts our publication as a platform for fostering a partnership of mutual growth.

Thus trusted, there is no reason the Northern Zone shouldn’t continue to be the trendsetter in our country. We can only achieve that together, fellow Northerners. We remain steadfast in fostering creativity and spearheading quality journalism as pillars of community engagement, mindful that our journey is far from complete.

Our community’s landscape is rapidly changing. With major events like the General Election, the growing tourism sector, and the excitement around AFCON championships on the horizon, among others, our mission to inform and engage becomes even more challenging. To maintain and expand our coverage, we must evolve and be able to support developments in agriculture and mining, for which our zone is renowned. Our immediate focus is on enhancing our technological infrastructure to broaden our reach and streamline operations.

So far, we have been propelled along by volunteer contributors, but we must now transition to paid positions, recognising the dedication and professionalism every individual towards group success.

To achieve all that, dear readers, we rely on your support. We are indeed very grateful to local businesses and community leaders who have advertised with us so far and hope that this relationship will continue in the year ahead.

But we also welcome contributions from men and women touched by the work we are doing. Contributions can be sent to bank account name: SLA2024 PUBLISHERS, Account No: 3391288511, KCB Bank, (Swift Code: KCBLTZTZ) Arusha, Tanzania, or mobile +255 754 297 244 (M-pesa). All donations shall be carefully recorded and gratefully acknowledged.

In addition to financial contributions, supporting our newspaper through advertising and subscribing to our online edition (www.mwanaclick.com) are other impactful ways to engage. By placing ads with us or subscribing online, businesses and individuals not only gain access to premium content but also support the sustainability of independent journalism in Northern Tanzania.

Every ad placed and subscription purchased is a step towards maintaining the flow of free, factual, and timely news and information.

Your generous contributions, advertisements, and subscriptions represent more than just support. They are an investment in our community’s future. They allow us to continue providing the impactful journalism that both motivates and drives communities, particularly as we approach a critical juncture in our collective history as a broad-based East African Community (EAC) of eight countries, with more likely to join.

With your continued support, we can ensure that The Arusha News remains a vibrant and essential voice from Arusha, shining a light on issues that matter and promoting local and regional discourse for shared prosperity.

No one can do that for us, fellow Arushans. Only we can do it.

Every contribution, no matter the size, is valuable and deeply appreciated.

Together, let’s strengthen this platform that has already significantly demonstrated its ability to enhance dialogue and community visibility.
