ARUSHA CITY RANKS THIRD IN NATIONAL SANITATION CONTEST

Arusha City has proudly secured third place in the 2024 National Health Delivery and Environmental Sanitation Contest, organized by the Ministry of Health.

The announcement was made in Dodoma by the Chief Medical Officer, Ms Grace Magembe, noting that Tanga City emerged as the overall winner, followed by Mbeya City.

Receiving the recognition, Arusha Mayor Maxmillian Matle Iranqhe expressed gratitude and reaffirmed his city’s determination to claim the top position in future competitions.

Additionally, Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital was awarded for being the cleanest referral hospital in Tanzania.

The competition aims to motivate cities and regions to improve health service delivery and sanitation. The Njombe Region emerged as the overall winner, receiving a certificate, assorted prizes, and even a station wagon vehicle from the government.
