Members of the Arusha community, in partnership with the East African Community (EAC), joined hands on April 7, 2025, to mark the 31st Anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide.
The well-attended event featured a solemn procession led by school children, beginning from the EAC Headquarters. The commemoration aimed to honor victims of the tragic 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, while promoting peace, reconciliation, and unity across the region.
The event underscored Arusha’s role as a centre of diplomacy and remembrance within the East African region.
