The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) will conduct a heart clinic at the Seliani Lutheran Hospital for residents of Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions between October 15 and 18, 2024, according to the Executive Director, Dr Peter Kisenge (pictured). The clinic is part of JKCI’s outreach efforts to bring specialised cardiac care to different regions across Tanzania, since not all patients can travel to the main facility in Dar es Salaam. The heart clinic will provide diagnostic services such as blood pressure testing, ECGs and blood sugar testing, as well as treatment options for various heart conditions. These outreach services aim to improve access to quality heart care, particularly for those in more remote areas, said Dr Kisenge. JKCI has been actively conducting such clinics in various regions, with the target of ensuring that individuals suffering from heart conditions can receive timely diagnosis and treatment.
