Arusha is set to host over 800 footballers for the ninth annual Kitambi Noma International Soccer Bonanza during the Easter holidays next month, organisers said.
Among those assembling are five teams from Nairobi, Kenya, participating in the four-day event.
Local teams from Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Iringa, Mbeya, Tanga, Dodoma, and Zanzibar will also participate.
The event will showcase 20 soccer teams, according to the Chairman of the Kitambi Noma Sports Team, James Rugangila.
A special charity match between the reigning champions, Chini ya Muti from Nairobi and Succa Orijino from Dar es Salaam, will kick off the festivities on April 18.
The participating teams will be divided into four groups, with each group sending two teams to the quarter-finals.
The matches are slated for April 19 across four different fields. The semi-finals and finals will be held on Easter Sunday, April 20.
The bonanza also serves as a bridge to strengthen cultural and historical ties within the East African Community (EAC) through sports, business, and social networking.
