The 23rd edition of Kilimanjaro Premium Lager International Marathon, set for February 23, 2025, in Moshi, will offer cash prize of TSh 5.5 million each for the top male and female finishers, according to the organisers. This year’s event is expected to attract over 6,000 local and international runners. Kicking-off the event’s preparations, Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner (RC), Nurdin Babu, said that the marathon has not only put Moshi and Tanzania on the global map, but also significantly boosted the local economy and tourism sector. Babu encouraged close collaboration among stakeholders to enhance this year’s event and praised the contributions of sponsors including the main sponsor Kilimanjaro Premium Lager, YAS Kili International Half Marathon for the 21km race and CRDB Bank for the 5km Fun Run. Marketing Director of Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL), Khensani Mkhombo, expressed pride in their long-term association with the event through their Kilimanjaro Premium Lager brand, contributing TSh 30 million this year. “It’s thrilling to see the event grow annually, promoting not just athletics but also the tourism industry,” said Mkhombo
