SIMBA SC SET TO FACE STELLENBOSCH IN AFRICA CONFEDERATION CUP SEMI-FINAL

Simba Sports Club (SC) of Tanzania is gearing up for a massive continental showdown as they prepare to clash with Stellenbosch Football Club (FC) of South Africa in the first leg of the Africa Confederation Cup Semi-Final on April 20, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Simba SC booked their spot in the semi-final following a dramatic performance against Al Masry of Egypt. The Tanzanian giants overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit with an impressive 2-0 win in the return leg, forcing a penalty shoot-out, which Simba won 4-1 in front of their home crowd on April 9, 2025.

This comeback demonstrated Simba’s tactical brilliance, mental strength, and fighting spirit — attributes that will be crucial as they head into the semi-finals.

On the other side, Stellenbosch FC eliminated defending champions Zamalek of Egypt, scoring a crucial late goal in the 79th minute at the Cairo International Stadium, thanks to Sihle Nduli, securing a 1-0 aggregate victory.

The second leg of the semi-final will be played in South Africa on April 27, 2025.

Simba’s manager and technical team have expressed confidence, emphasizing preparation and strategic flexibility for the two-legged battle. Fans across Tanzania are hopeful that Simba SC can proceed to their first-ever Africa Confederation Cup Final.
